The August 2020 Cryptid Crate shipped on 7/29/2020 to Cryptid Crate subscribers. Boxes will be made available for individual purchase on 8/15/2020.
For August 2020, the Cryptid Crate has a dual theme.
The Fresno Nightcrawlers or Nightwalker is/are the featured Cryptid. These creatures resemble a pair of walking white pants! They have been spotted on security cameras in Fresno, CA and Yosemite National Park. While there are numerous theories debunking the videos as CGI, puppets, or other explanations, they have still inspired the imagination of many. Check them out in this video from youtube channel Cryptid Countdown
The second theme of this month's box is 'Kids of All Ages.' We selected items this month that are primary appealing to a younger audience. Between the relatively benign nature of the featured cryptid and the focus of the items in the box, this month is a great time to introduce some younger people in your life to your love of the unknown.

The Cryptid Catcher (The Cryptid Duology) by Lija Fisher w/ bonus collector's autograph plate and bookmark: Value with extras $9.99
The Cryptid Catcher is the first book in a monstrously fun middle-grade duology by Lija Fisher about a boy who inherits a job hunting legendary creatures.
After Clivo Wren's archaeologist father dies mysteriously, the newly orphaned thirteen-year-old finds out the truth: his dad was no archaeologist. He was actually a cryptid catcher, known for finding elusive beasts like the bloodsucking chupacabra. His goal: discover the one extraordinary cryptid whose blood grants immortality―before the knowledge falls into the wrong hands. The mission remains unfinished, and now there's only one person who can take the renowned cryptid catcher's place: Clivo. He may not know the first thing about monster hunting, but he's willing to give it a try―because anything beats staying home with his salsa-crazy aunt and her neurotic cats.
The second book in this Duology, The Cryptid Keeper, is due out soon, so make sure to check it out! https://www.amazon.com/Cryptid-Keeper-Duology/dp/125025034X
