The Maker Box Easy Plan is the plan to pick if your goal is building a library of color choices with easy to use filament. This plan does not include challenging materials.
The Maker Box easy plan features 4 samples of filament in different colors from a single manufacturer each month. The samples are normally 50g / 16m but some manufacturers will offer bonus lengths of up to 75g.
Easy to Use
The material will be PLA or something that prints at typical PLA settings. No special nozzles, enclosure, or heated bed.
THE BOX SHIPS ON THE LAST TUESDAY ON OR BEFORE THE 25TH OF THE MONTH.
We strive to introduce our members to every different type of filament out there. ABS, PLA, PETG, Nylon, Fluoropolymer, PP, PC, PBT, PCTG, TPU, with many different blends, and fillers such as metals, glass, carbon fiber, kevlar, etc. All have been featured in the box. Our members are some of the most involved people in the 3D Printing community and industry and they all say that they have discovered something they have never heard of in this box at some point!

I've only had it for a few months but so far it has been great. The shipping and delivery is very timely. I don't have a printer capable of printing higher temp plastics so I signed up for the easy PLA plan. I hope that includes some of the glitter, wood fiber or other PLAs out there at some point. I don't have specific projects in mind and can't justify buying 1kg rolls but samples would be nice.
ETA: After my original review they reached out very quickly to send me a new box with the proper included paperwork that's supposed to come with it. A+ customer service!
I liked the colors I got but it would be nice if it was clearer what brand they were so I could find them and order more if I want.
Great way to test filaments out from various manufacturers without spending a lot of cash. Upgrading my box to try out more advanced filaments!
Interesting take on PLA, a line made especially for cookie cutters. When the suggested temperatures were used the products turned out great. I also printed a few test prints which turned out well at a lower temperature. The finished prints released easily. Overall this was a great PLA thank you for the opportunity to try them.
Generally, service is good. Products usually print well after minimal prep, some require additional drying or careful attention to bend radius to prevent snapping. Recommendations for printing are typically good on my Ender 5 Pro, temps usually are slightly high but that helps improve accuracy at a small cost to surface quality. Tracking boxes is awful, with no tracking number and requiring going through the app SHOP. There’s also some confusion about how the “points” rewards system works, it should be slightly more clear.
As a service to try new filament, it’s generally good.
